![]() It adds about 1.5 inches to the LOP and you can't get rid of it without a lot of hard work. I've talked to cool about his rifle he says it's good to go which is a good sign but I'd recommend anyone looking at any Sam7 to test it before laying cash down.īiggest issue with modify the Sam7 is the folding device in the rear. I'm also the one with the Sam7 safety beef. It takes a little doing but it adds to the charm IMO. Issues with both guns are fitting aftermarket accessories on them. Vepr 110% besides it being Russian it is a very robust version of an ak. Is there anything else I should know or think about? Thanks in advance! #FM 11 FIXED SQUAREBACK VEPR SERIES#Most of these seem to be connected to the SLR series of rifles and less the SAM7 series, but you guys know a lot more than I do. I've also just seen some general QA concerns with Arsenal products popping up recently. I've seen a couple of reports that these use a full-auto safety that can jump the dust cover fairly easily. One of the big benefits of the Vepr over the SAM7 that people used to cite was the significant cost savings, but now the Vepr is more expensive. All the comparisons I've seen were done back when these cost $1100-$1200, but now all the remaining ones are $1600. Does anyone have any experience with that? One more serious concern about the stock that I've seen is that the latch gets in the way of using something like an RS Regulate QD mount on the side rail. Does the Vepr stock suck as a stock or does it just suck because you can't switch it out? Aftermarket compatibility isn't really an issue for me since I'm not planning to change it out, and in any case it seems like aftermarket options for the SAM7SF are equally limited. I've seen a lot of people say the folding stock on the Vepr sucks. I know the pros and cons between the FM-AK47- 11 (fixed stock, not the folder that I'm looking at) and SAM7SF have been weighed here before and elsewhere on the internet, but given how prices have changed since all of those threads were last active, I'm not sure that the old advice still works. I'm in the market for a new AK and I'm a little torn between these two options. These rules are also posted every time you submit a link or self post so don't say you didn't see them. Don't like it, get over it and go somewhere else. We have to follow ATF laws and those are too muddy for a place like Reddit. No AKs with buffer tubes to meet the 26 inch OAL length.
